The complex issue of the transmission and dating of the funerary texts of Ancient Egypt knows a rich history. In this context, the existence of presumed antecedents that could be traced back to the Middle Kingdom for the Book of the Amduat, funerary composition of the New Kingdom, has been a much debated issue among specialists that still retains validity.
The present work is proposed as an update and chronological synopsis of the state of the art regarding the controversial issue of the dating of the Book of Amduat, with arguments ranging from linguistic aspects to those of an architectural nature. In conclusion, we outline a theory of personal data that attends to, or aims to attend to, an integral vision of the culture.
